Hickory Point
Broadcast Club
The broadcast club is for any second grade student who is interested in reporting, filming, interviewing, taking pictures and other aspects of putting together a morning news show. We will have five crews. Each crew will observe for one day and then work on reports to broadcast and film for about six weeks. All interested students will be able to participate. It is important that the student is able to get to school by 7:55 a.m. for the weeks of his/her crew dates.
Grade: Second Grade
Meeting days/times: Tuesday and Friday, 7:55 a.m. - 8:25 a.m.

Champ Camp
This club is for Hickory Point’s youngest bulldogs - Kindergarteners! In this club we will meet new friends from other classes, play games, do crafts, dance, and have fun! Students will also become more familiar and comfortable at Hickory Point. There are several sessions. Each session runs for four weeks.
Grade: Kindergarten

Kind Kids
The Kind Kids Club is for any first and second graders that love to promote kindness. During each 4 week session we will play games, read stories, and make projects that will promote kindness throughout our school and community.
Grades: First and Second Grade
Meeting days/times: Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:25 a.m.

3R's Club
The 3R's Club will focus on the environment and helping our Earth. It will be focused around Earth Day, celebrated on April 22nd. The Three R’s Club will help get us ready to celebrate Earth Week, and will also teach students a little bit more about the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Students will participate in projects during the weeks leading up to Earth Week! Your student will be assigned EITHER a Tuesday morning or a Thursday morning session. Each session runs for four weeks.
Grade: First Grade
Meeting days/times: Monday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. for half of first grade; Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. for other half of first grade.

STEAM Club (Little Steamers)
Come explore and design with various technology programs including coding and interactive tools that focus on creation and innovation. Each session is six weeks in length.
Grades: First and Second Grade
Meeting days/times: Monday 7:55 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. for first grade; Wednesday 7:55 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. for second grade.

Shabonee
Broadcast Club
During this school year, 3rd graders have the opportunity to participate in Shabonee’s Broadcast Club. As a member, students will have the opportunity to participate in all of the different roles of the production process. They will plan, report, film, anchor, direct, and produce news broadcasts for the Shabonee student body.
Grade level: 3
Meeting dates/times: Tuesday and Wednesdays: 8:00 - 8:40

Lit Lab
Discover the power of creative writing in the Lit Lab! Open to students in grades 4-5, we will explore different activities to get some creative ideas on the page, including how to develop a character, learning about dialogue, crafting that perfect first line, and more! By the end of the session, students will have written a draft of a short story or first chapter of a longer story. Students can also decide to add optional illustrations.
Grade levels: 4, 5

Newcomers Club
New students from the past two school years are invited to join the Newcomers Club at Shabonee. This is a great way for students who are new to the district to meet new friends. The club meets every Monday at 8:00 A.M. in the Library. Below are the first meeting dates for newcomers club.
