Wood Oaks Newsletter: Track & Field Conference Champions!

Wood Oaks PTA - Thank you!

The Wood Oaks staff is genuinely touched and grateful for the support our PTA gives us each and every day. The Staff Appreciation Week festivities and monthly activities have been creative, thoughtful, and so much fun. We thank the entire Wood Oaks PTA for your support and generosity.

Graduation Gown Distribution - Saturday!

On Saturday, May 16, from 8 am until 10 am, parents/guardians of 8th-grade students can pick up their child’s graduation gown and ribbon in front of Wood Oaks. PTA will also be distributing the pre-ordered yard signs. If you are unable to pick up the items at that time, they will be available for pickup at the Wood Oaks office starting May 18. As a reminder, students do not have caps for the June 1st graduation at GBN’s CPA. The graduation ceremony will start promptly at 5 pm. Tickets are not necessary.

Track & Field Conference Champions!

Congratulations to the 7th-grade boys track and field team for winning the Conference Championship at the Conference Tournament earlier this week. These athletes demonstrated strong performances in both running and field events. Great work, Wildcats!

Additionally, on Saturday, May 16, thirty track and field athletes will participate in the IESA 3A Sectional at Johnsburg High School in Johnsburg, IL. This is a highly competitive meet with sixteen schools competing. Best of luck to these athletes!

Final Report Cards

All parents will receive an email on June 4th at 4 pm with a link to your child’s final report card. Please download the document for your records.

Wood Oaks Last Day of School Hours

Wood Oaks will have attendance hours on June 4th between 8 am and 11 am. Students who ride the bus should be at their bus stops about 15 minutes earlier than normal. All students will be dismissed at 11 am. We will not have additional activity buses. Our office will be closed at 3:30 pm on June 4, 2026.

Student Scratch Accounts:

As the year wraps up, we wanted to make all Applied Technology students aware that their student accounts will be closed at the end of the school year (June 2nd) because they are intended for school use, not personal use. We are notifying parents because while the District never asks students to create their own accounts, parents or guardians may permit students to create personal Scratch accounts at home. If students do not want to lose their Scratch projects, they should ensure the projects are shared or downloaded (File>Save to your computer) and uploaded to their personal Scratch account (File>Load from your computer) prior to June 5th. If you are interested in helping your student create their own Scratch account, here is the link: https://scratch.mit.edu/join
