Science Mural

The new science mural in the south hall at Wood Oaks is finally complete! This vibrant addition to our school was a year-long project, and we are incredibly proud of the results. Students spent countless hours during their lunch and study halls completing the mural. A special thanks goes to Ms. Bates, Ms. Hoffman, and our talented artists. The blue gradient background was painted by Rachel M. (6th), Maggie R. (6th), Rachel B. (7th), and Misha A. (8th). The various objects were painted by: Giacomo Z. (8th), Genesis P. (8th), Makayla S. (8th)

Field Day

June 3rd will be field day for 6th and 7th graders. 6th graders will participate in the morning during periods 1-4, and 7th graders will participate in the afternoon during periods 7-10. Please make sure your child comes prepared with a water bottle and sunscreen. Students are NOT allowed to have any face or body painting for this event. If the weather is inclement, field day activities will be moved inside. 

Last Day for Hot Lunch

The last day for Hot Lunch is Friday, May 29. Please remember to send your child with lunch on Monday, June 1, Tuesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 3. Due to early dismissal, there will be no lunch at Wood Oaks on June 4.

Graduation

Wood Oaks Class of 2026 will graduate on Monday, June 1, at the Center for Performing Arts at Glenbrook North High School. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5 pm. Graduates need to be at GBN by 4:30 pm. The ceremony will last approximately an hour. We ask that families do their best to leave after the ceremony to make parking available to the next graduation, which follows shortly after ours. 

Chromebook Collection

All students will return their Chromebooks, chargers, and bags before the last day of school. Please make sure your child has all three items ready to turn in. Students in 8th grade will return their items on May 29, while 6th and 7th-grade students will return their Chromebooks, chargers, and bags on June 2. 

Final Report Cards

All parents will receive an email on June 4th at 4 pm with a link to your child’s final report card. Please download the document for your records. 

Wood Oaks Last Day of School Hours

Wood Oaks will have attendance hours on June 4th between 8 am and 11 am. Students who ride the bus should be at their bus stops about 15 minutes earlier than normal. All students will be dismissed at 11 am. We will not have additional activity buses. Our office will be closed at 3:30 pm on June 4, 2026.
