Second Quarter Final Grades & Report Cards
Second-quarter grades and report cards will be ready for parents to view on Tuesday, January 28 no later than 4 PM. These can be seen through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Any concerns or questions regarding a class grade should be directed to that specific teacher.
PTA Wellness Fair - Student Volunteer Opportunities!
Calling all Wildcats! The Mental Health & Wellness Fair has some great volunteer opportunities! We are looking for Wood Oaks students to join us at the wellness fair on Saturday, February 22nd at Wood Oaks. All student volunteer opportunities would be from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on that Saturday. Here are the volunteer opportunities:
- 1-2 volunteers to supervise the Hickory Point booth. They will be creating signs of affirmation.
- 1-2 volunteers to supervise the Shabonee booth. They will be creating kindness rocks.
- 2 volunteers to run a Wood Oaks affirmation bracelet making booth.
- 2 volunteers to run a face painting station. This opportunity is only open to 8th graders**
This is a great opportunity for some community service volunteer work, while also interacting with fellow District 27 students and community members. Students will earn special ROAR spirit points for their homerooms by volunteering to assist with the Fair! If you would like to sign up your student please fill in this Google form.
Open Gym This Saturday
Shabonee and Wood Oaks will be open for basketball for students and community members from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the remaining Saturdays:
- January 25, 2025
- February 8, 2025 (Shabonee only)
- February 22, 2025
- March 8, 2025
The gyms are for basketball only. All students in grades K-5 must be accompanied by an adult. Students in grades K-5 and their parents should use the gym at Shabonee. Students in grades 6-8 should use the large gym at Wood Oaks located on the west side of the building. High school students and adult community members should use the small gym at Wood Oaks located on the north side of the building. All participants must be picked up by 12 p.m. Those attending must sign in and out.
National Black History Month
District 27 will be recognizing National Black History Month from Feb. 1 to March 1. This is a time to recognize the contributions and achievements of African Americans. Wood Oaks will be focusing on the important contributions of advocates and artists. Throughout the month, we will have recognition displays in the building, and the morning announcements will feature a puzzle of the week.
Wood Oaks Boys Volleyball Tryouts
Any boy interested in trying out for the volleyball team at their grade level should make sure they have a current physical on file in the nurse's office along with submitted permission to participate and concussion forms signed by a parent or guardian. These forms can be found on our Wood Oaks Athletic page. Students need all of these before they are allowed to try out for any Wood Oaks athletic team. Physicals can be dropped off or emailed to Nurse Weeks. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Schneider. Tryout dates are as follows:
6th Grade Boys Volleyball
- Thursday, January 30th–3:40-4:30 in the small gym
- Monday, February 3rd–3:40-4:30 in the small gym
- Coach Ciss (the one who teaches at Wood Oaks) is the 6th grade boys coach
7th Grade Boys Volleyball
- Monday, February 3rd–3:40–5:00 in the big gym
- Tuesday, February 4th–3:40-5:00 in the big gym
- Coach Ciss (the one who does NOT teach at Wood Oaks) is the 7th grade coach
8th Grade Boys Volleyball
- Wednesday, January 29th–3:40-5:00 in the big gym
- Thursday, January 30th–3:40-5:00 in the big gym
- 8th grade coach–TBD
