After several attempts to get some relief from the State Board of Education, it has been passed on that we will need to participate in IL State Testing this year. The impact on Wood Oaks is twofold:
IL Science Assessment (ISA) – This is the annual test given to 5th and 8th graders to analyze the learning progress of students in the area of science. We will administer this test to all 8th graders on Monday, May 3. The testing will take place from 8:15 – 11:00 a.m. and again from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Please avoid creating appointments for 8th graders during those times.
IL Assessment of Readiness (IAR) – This is the mandated state testing in Reading/LA and math for all grades 3-8. This was previously known as PARCC and ISAT before that. Wood Oaks will administer this testing on May 11 – 13. There will be a morning and after lunch session each day starting at 8:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. The testing windows vary by day, but are all under 2 hours, if you are looking to schedule ortho appointments around this testing. We appreciate all you can do to avoid pulling students during testing. We will do makeup testing the following week.
