Starting on April 12, 2021, we will be instituting some changes to our arrival and dismissal procedures. Starting at 7:45 a.m., Wildcats will be dropped off and enter the building through the same three entrances they have been using all year. Those are marked on the diagram below. All vehicles will enter the lot off of Sanders Road and use the horseshoe drive to get to the building. Students should exit their vehicle and enter the building based on this diagram. It is important that 7th grade families are especially efficient in unloading their students as their entrance is on the north side of the building, prior to the 6th and 8th grade entrances. Please use care and stay to the right at this time as staff are also arriving in vehicles and crossing traffic to access the building.
Once in the building, students will report to different morning locations to await the start of the school day. All 8th grade students will report to their first period classroom. Sixth and seventh graders will report to locations based on their lunch period. We created this infographic to help those students determine their assigned location:
Due to the increased volume of traffic expected starting April 12, we will need to revise our afternoon pickup plan. Eighth grade students and any younger siblings will walk across the field behind Wood Oaks to be picked up at the small lot west of the school. Parents can access that lot by following Walters Road west, almost to the end before turning right into the lot. Please do not arrive at that location prior to 3:15 p.m. As that lot is for access to a public park, we need to limit our use of that area to as small of a window as possible. Wood Oaks staff members will be there to keep traffic moving and assist getting students into vehicles safely. Once your student(s) have entered your vehicle, please follow the traffic around the circle driveway to exit. Do not attempt to make a U-turn from the pickup line. Sixth and seventh grade students will continue to be picked up at the front of the school as in the past. Bus service will also continue to work as it has in the past.
