Bike Riders (First Posting)
For this early portion of the year while we are still enjoying nice weather, there are a large number of students who are riding their bikes to school every day. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask parents to review some safe biking tips with their students.
· All bicycle riders should wear a helmet at all times while riding their bikes. This is not only an important safety item, but a village ordinance that, if violated, could result in a fine.
· Riders should only cross streets in marked crosswalks and should dismount from their bikes while crossing.
· Most bikes are built for a single rider. Riders should not be carrying a passenger on their bike while they are riding it.
· Bike riders should walk their bikes while on Wood Oaks property.
Wood Oaks Clubs (First Posting)
Wood Oaks after school clubs started up this week. All clubs meet one day per week from 3:35 – 4:30 pm. This structure allows our students to try several different clubs throughout the week. Club participants are able to access the Wood Oaks Activity Bus at 4:30 pm if they so choose. This bus is free, but does require the filling out of a permission slip before a student can access this service. The permission slip is available in the Wood Oaks Main Office. You can see which clubs meet on each day of the week on the Wood Oaks website.
