About Us
Wood Oaks Junior High is proud to serve approximately 460 students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students within District 27 consistently perform well on the State IAR testing. Upon completion of their 8th grade year, students successfully continue their education at Glenbrook North High School in District 225.
Our staff of approximately 80 highly qualified teachers and support staff work diligently to meet the needs of all the students at Wood Oaks. We offer a wide range of academic levels, courses, and extracurricular opportunities for students. Students and staff are consistently using new and innovative technology to enrich the learning environment. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and develop their self-advocacy skills during their growth at Wood Oaks.
Wood Oaks has twice been recognized by the Department of Education receiving the Blue Ribbon Award in 2011 and again in 2022.
