Young adult book author Tara Sullivan spoke to Wood Oaks students about writing books and social justice issues. She is the author of "Golden Boy" and "The Bitter Side of Sweet.
Ms. Sullivan showed students the small amount of money a cocoa farmer receives from one piece of chocolate. She also shared that children in Africa are forced to work long hours harvesting cocoa beans.
In addition to speaking to students about the social justice aspects of her books, Ms. Sullivan also shared that writing books is a long process of edits and rewrites.
